This elegant Edwardian Display Case was initially bought to restore to its former glory, but years of neglect and scratches meant giving it another lease of life, with some gorgeous charcoal grey paint being the order of the day. So I cleaned, sanded, and swathed it in three coats of Ash paint by Fusion Mineral Paint, inside and out. Then I added two coats of water-based varnish to give it a chance of lasting another one hundred years.
This exquisite piece stands tall at 136 cm, making it a true statement in any room. With two shelves, it provides the perfect canvas for showcasing your treasured collection of books, elegant ornaments, or, if you are a gin enthusiast like myself, an ever-expanding assortment of delicious gins. You can even lock them away and stow away the key to keep your collection to yourself!
This piece is over a hundred years old and, like all old things, shows some signs of aging. The glass is original and over the years has picked up some scratches, not really noticeable, and nothing that detracts from its beauty.
